In late August of 2023, federal probation petitioned the U.S. District Court in Buffalo, New York for the addition of two new rules that they wanted Luke Wenke to follow.

Firstly, Wenke’s P.O. wanted to ban him from contacting the family of Wenke’s uninterested romantic obsession, Ryan (also called Benjamin). According to the document below, Wenke had allegedly mailed several letters to Ryan’s family in violation of a state-issued protective order that they had obtained against him.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the document alleges that Wenke sent the letters to the family while already in jail for similar conduct. Wenke even appears to admit to sending the unwanted correspondence in one of his letters to the judge from a different jail later that year.

The probation officer also asked the judge to ban Luke Wenke from contacting me (Katie). Shortly before the following document was submitted to the court, I had contacted Wenke’s P.O. regarding continued unwanted contact and harassment.

(I had received harassing text messages from suspected burner numbers, and Wenke had recently targeted me in a bogus smear campaign in an attempt to destroy my reputation and life. He had also threatened me in public social media posts, had his mommy harass me on his behalf, and tried filing a fake harassment report against me with the Olean Police in an attempt to get me arrested.)

Additionally, the record below mentions several concerning posts on Wenke’s X/Twitter and Facebook accounts, including posts mentioning death and violence. Wenke had also made numerous posts voicing his anger over court-mandated outpatient mental health treatment, as well as posts taunting federal agents and wishing death upon Ryan, whom he believed was in the Witness Protection Program.

The judge granted probation’s requests, thereby requiring Luke Wenke to refrain from contacting Ryan’s family, me, and anyone with an order of protection against him. These rules functioned as formal conditions of Wenke’s probation, but as later court documents have shown, this did not stop Wenke from continuing to violate.
