Luke Wenke sent these letters to the Honorable John L. Sinatra, Jr., who oversaw his federal criminal case, and other federal district court judges in Buffalo, New York between August of 2023 and the present.
All the letters that the court received before December 1, 2024 were sent before this website existed, which challenges the defence’s argument that my website provoked Luke Wenke’s legacy of harassment, slander, stalking, and other arguably criminal behaviour. Wenke mentions me by name in 33 of the 43 letters from the above-specified timespan (he references me by hair colour and other attributes in several other letters). In total, he mentions my name nearly 250 times.
During that period, I was mostly avoiding social media and essentially living like a recluse due to Wenke’s refusal to leave me alone. I was not inciting contact with Luke Wenke, and the only time I responded to his correspondence was to warn/beg him to leave me alone. I also repeatedly reported the unwanted contact to both state and federal authorities, to no avail.
In short, I was doing all the right things and it failed to curb Luke Wenke’s terrifying obsession with me — if anything, it seems as though his behaviour intensified the more I ignored and avoided him. I’ll never respond to Luke Wenke and will always block and ignore his attempts to contact me, but after repeatedly unsuccessfully pleading with the authorities to put an end to his torment and getting nowhere, I decided to make this website. I considered the decision for several months while hoping the authorities would take more meaningful action, but they didn’t, and after years of living in isolation, misery, and fear, I shared my story.
Luke Wenke clearly isn’t going to stop obsessing over me, whether I respond to his behaviour or not. I figured, ‘I might as well spare my dignity and take what control I can of this extremely convoluted narrative. Maybe, if I’m lucky, I’ll gain some support after going through this alone for so long.’
