In early December of 2023, the judge overseeing Luke Wenke’s federal criminal case released Wenke from custody on pretrial supervision. Wenke was required to wear a GPS ankle monitor and follow certain rules and restrictions, including having no contact with several victims, abiding by a curfew, and not “crossing the line” with his behavior on social media.
During a status conference that took place less than a week later, the judge revoked Wenke’s ankle monitor and remanded him to the Orleans County Jail in Albion, New York due to ongoing concerns over the community’s safety and Wenke’s access to court-mandated mental health treatment. The following transcript contains a word-for-word account of what was said during the hearing.
