The first of the following two batches of public records consists of two reports about Luke Wenke that were filed with the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office in May of 2023 and March of 2024, while the second PDF viewer contains Luke Wenke’s records from the Cattaraugus County Jail.
The first (and more recent) report appears to have been taken by a school resource officer, who wrote that they were approached by the Salamanca High School principal at the time about some letters he had received from Luke Wenke. According to the complaint, Wenke mailed the letters in January and March of 2024 while detained at the Orleans County Jail in Albion, New York.
The first letter was addressed to the principal and another staff member, while the second letter was addressed exclusively to the principal. Wenke addressed his incarceration and various other topics, but the letters were determined to contain no threats.
The deputy who took the report stated that he had gotten in touch with a U.S. Marshal involved in Wenke’s case, who told him that several people — including judges, attorneys, and others — had recently received letters containing similar language. No charges were brought against Wenke, and the case was closed.
The second report, dated May 17th, 2023, states that sheriff’s deputies realized Luke Wenke was wanted on a federal arrest warrant for violating probation after serving him with a no-contact order of protection for a victim in North Carolina. They took him into custody, and the matter was turned over to the U.S. Marshals.
These reports reflect just two of numerous run-ins that Wenke had with law enforcement throughout 2023, the rest of which fell under the jurisdiction of other agencies, including the Olean Police Department.

Luke Wenke – FOIL – Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office
The records below pertain to Luke Wenke’s stay at the Cattaraugus County Jail, where he was detained from October 4th, 2023 to December 8th, 2023 following his arrest on several probation violation charges. Included among the documents are Wenke’s booking sheet and correspondence log, which shows the mail he sent and received while at the facility.
It’s evident, based on these records, that Wenke mailed at least three letters to a member of his romantic obsession’s (Ryan’s) family in violation of a state-issued no-contact order of protection. Wenke was required to abide by the protective order as a condition of his supervised release, and some of his violation charges stemmed from the unwanted correspondence he mailed to the family.
