In December 2023, Luke Wenke was released from the Cattaraugus County Jail on a GPS ankle monitor. He was remanded to the Orleans County Jail less than a week later after the judge decided that the ankle bracelet wasn’t working out. Wenke remained at the facility until mid-August 2024, when he was transferred to MCC Chicago for a competency evaluation.
During his nine months at the Orleans County Jail, Wenke sent at least 185 letters. He received just over a dozen pieces of mail, consisting mostly of legal correspondence, rejected mail he had sent to a woman at the CCSE Federal Credit Union in Salamanca, NY, and letters from an elderly family friend (who he called a very derogatory name in past Facebook posts because he was jealous of her son’s federal job). I’m guessing the elderly lady either doesn’t know Wenke trash-talked her or she’s a deeply devout Christian who believes more in forgiveness than the average person.
The mail log below demonstrates the disturbing extent of Wenke’s letter-writing obsession. And remember, these are the records for one out of the many jails, prisons, and holding facilities that Luke Wenke has been housed in. If anyone involved in this case truly thinks Luke Wenke is going to stop sending unwanted correspondence, I have to question their connection (or lack thereof) with reality. People already don’t respond to Wenke’s letters, yet he keeps bombarding them with more unwanted communications.
I certainly hope people believe me now when I say that ignoring Luke Wenke doesn’t make him fucking stop.

Luke Wenke Supposedly Has “No Drug Abuse History”
I rolled eyes at the intake questionnaire, which states that Luke Wenke has no previous drug abuse history but that he abused alcohol in the past. Throughout our more than decade-long friendship, I saw Wenke drunk maybe — MAYBE — twice. In fact, I never knew him to be much of a drinker. I knew he drank from time to time, but at no point throughout our friendship did I witness any problematic behaviour that was seemingly connected to alcohol consumption.
It’s also odd that Wenke’s intake forms document no know drug abuse history, especially since his alleged substance abuse issues were mentioned in court on multiple previous occasions. While I accept that maybe Wenke did have a drinking problem that I didn’t know about, the alleged drug use was arguably a much bigger issue. Let’s just say that I saw a lot of one and not a lot of the other.
